South Carolina payment of wages and child labor laws are administered by the Wages and Child Labor section in the S.C. Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation. In fiscal year 2005, the office investigated 1,645 wage complaints and issued 625 warnings and 804 citations. The office also investigated 98 child labor investigations which were concluded with 1 warnings and 21 citations issued.
